I am, as are we all, imperfect and prone to innumerable mistakes. Sadly and tragically, my mistakes were some really BIG ones and I have paid a just price for them all. I am only grateful to have friends (such as yourself) who care. And, with the wisdom that comes with age, I have finally learned that even the worse mistakes can be addressed and, if not cured, at least overcome.

Thanks for the note and Happy Holidays to you and your wonderful family.

Yours sincerly,

Ron

Comment on A Thanksgiving to Remember - 2008

You are so brave...

Comment on A Thanksgiving to Remember - 2008

Very touching, can not imagine my life without my children as a part. Thanksgiving unlike Christmas should be a big day when all family can come together regardless of past and be thankful for what you have. Because, when all is said and done your family is what holds you together.

Comment on Democracy and Greed

But can you make a sow's ear from a silk purse.??.

Most of us men can't wash dishes, supposedly, so what else unites us.

onceamarine

Comment on Reflections on Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

I think they should continue to function as they do currently: local activism in defense of civil rights. It is my personal opinion that the actual tipping point dates to the period 1933-1945 and was under the auspices of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Some would date it earlier, perhaps to Woodrow Wilson, others much later, perhaps to the Presidency of Lyndon Johnson. It really doesn’t matter precisely when but only that is has occurred.
